The journey into and through the healing arts has brought me back to the path of music - which is a healing art and is essential to me now.
As a performer, I am playing alto sax in various groups in Tucson.
I am currently very happy to be playing with a very versitile group called Baba Marimba. We play world music, much of it inspired by African Marimba music, but also including influences from many cultures. There is much talent and creativity in the group and we are collecting a large volume of originals with every member contributing. We will have some samples of our music soon.
I also play with Mitzi Cowell and the Valiants. Look for us on the fifth Monday of the month (when there is one!) at the Boondoocks in Tucson.
I have also reconnected and play occasionally with Mary Redhouse, singer, bass, and Navajo chanting in our duo called Moonrise. We recently played in Patagonia's 4th of July Festival. Here are some comments from that day:

This is one of the gifts from my trip to Ashland last summer. I visited Cantrell Mariott in her home, where she and Mitzi were doing a recording project. We collaborated on one of my pieces. Check it out. Many people who have heard this recording think that my saxophone sounds like a violin.
