When I reflect on my journey as a student, practitioner and teacher of craniosacral work, I am profoundly grateful. Grateful for the many lessons in Humility, working through self-doubt, Surrender of Ego, and ultimately, Trust in Nature.

You see, in the process of learning the art of craniosacral work,, we are presented with a kind of dichotomy, or seemingly conflicting ideas. We learn about the elements of the craniosacral system; the cranial bones, membranes, fluids, and how to listen deeply to the involuntary motion in the body…. AND, we also learn that the innate healing potential of the body, responds to Stillness and to the Shifting of Perspectives that gives the system space to trust in being in harmony with Nature.

These teachings can be applied to table work with our clients, or in working with ourselves, which is always an ongoing process…

So with self-awareness and presence, we learn to tune in to the subtle motions and patterns of the body and possibly witness the chaos and stress that has become a habitual expression in the tissues. And, while we are watching and feeling and witnessing these motions with our sensitive hands, we learn to notice and understand that the innate healing process actually responds positively to a delicate balance of awareness of the motion present, with a shift to a broader awareness of and connection to the Greater Field. It feels like an invitation to be aware of the patterns, have compassion and respect for the ways our body/mind can adapt to life’s bumps and stumbles, but to not get caught up in these expressions of habitual motions. The perceptual shift into expanding our awareness to the Greater Field, is an invitation to trust in the experience of our fluid nature, to be whole, to reunite with Nature.

The study of biodynamic craniosacral work has taught me to have so much respect and awe of our potential to be human beings having a fluid experience. That is, the experience of the connection to Source through the Intelligence embodied in the Waters within. This knowledge from experience has shaped my life path and my relationship with Life Itself. Honoring the Breath of Life in everything and everybody is the practice I work and play with daily.

Much gratitude!
